Meet Dr. Janelle Comfort
Dr. Janelle Comfort is originally from Orange, California, just 10 minutes away from Santa Ana, and after attending dental school and practicing out of state, she's thrilled to be back home serving her local community. She believes the best part of her job is getting patients out of pain and giving them beautiful smiles they can be proud of. Dr. Comfort truly enjoys meeting new people every day and building meaningful relationships with her patients.
Dr. Comfort's path to dentistry began with her love of art, from ceramics and sculpting to painting and sketching. While she was always strong in math and science, her passion for science truly ignited when she took anatomy and physiology in high school. After working as a dental assistant for two years during college, she discovered that dentistry was the perfect combination of science and art. She deeply enjoys working with her hands and strives to be a comprehensive dentist who can handle everything for her patients, from surgery to cosmetics. As she puts it, "I love to be the one to gain the trust of the patient, and then be able to tell them with confidence that I can execute their treatment to the highest of standards."
After graduating from UC Irvine, Dr. Comfort earned her dental degree from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She has since pursued extensive continuing education in dental implants, Invisalign, endodontics (root canals), restorative dentistry, and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Comfort stays current with the latest advancements in dentistry through her memberships in professional organizations including the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, California Dental Association, and Spear Study Club.
When she's not in the office, Dr. Comfort enjoys spending quiet moments with her Shiba Inu, Kira. She's also a bit of a thrill seeker who loves skydiving, bungee jumping, white water rafting, scuba diving, and other heart-pumping adventures. She's an avid cook who enjoys pairing her culinary creations with a good bottle of wine and artisanal meats and cheeses.
